BAND 2 (40-59) MODEST USER
-Language is used with many grammatical errors.
-Pronunciation sometimes accurate.
-Attempt to link ideas but using inappropriate choice of vocabulary.
-Meaning occasionally unclear but comprehensible.

BAND 3 (60-74) COMPETENT USER
-Language is used with some grammatical errors.
-Fairly accurate pronunciation.
-Able to link ideas satisfactorily using reasonably appropriate vocabulary.
-Meaning comes across satisfactorily.

BAND 4 (75-89) GOOD USER
-Language is largely accurate with occasional grammatical errors.
-Accurate pronunciation.
-Able to link ideas effectively using appropriate vocabulary.
-Meaning comes across clearly.

BAND 5 - (90-100) EXCELLENT USER
-Language is used accurately and fluently with minimal grammatical errors.
-Very accurate pronunciation.
-Able to link ideas very effectively using appropriate vocabulary.
-Meaning comes across very clearly.
